PDCA DMAIC
PLAN
Plan an organizational change
or a product, service, problem solution,
or process improvement.
DEFINE
* Define the problem
MEASURE
* Select CTQ characteristics.
* Define performance standards.
* Validate measurement system.
ANALYZE
* Establish product capability.
* Define performance objective.
* Identify variation sources.
DO
Do the activity planned,
conduct an experiment,
or pilot the organizational change.
IMPLEMENT
* Screen potential causes.
* Discover variable relationship.
* Establish operational tolerance.
CHECK
Check the results or effects of the change;
study the quantitative and qualitative
data collected on the effects of the change.
CONTROL
* Validate measurement system.
* Determine process capabilities.
* Implement process control.
ACT
Act on lessons learned.
Make decision on large-scale production
or implementation, abandonment, or activity,
or repeating the PDCA cycle steps
for continued improvement.
